Sharing is Caring

I just came back from a 10-day trip from Central America. It was exhausting, exciting, fun and fruitful.

As much as I enjoy traveling and experiencing the world, I am glad to be back. It might seem odd to say this, but I enjoy working. I am happy to be reconnected with my students and teachers and be back at the piano.

There is a saying and it goes something like this, “If you enjoy what you do, you’ll never work another day in your life.” I think that’s how I feel about my work.

I feel very lucky to be in the position to open others’ eyes and souls, and help them see and feel the beauty themselves. Listening to music is great, but making it yourself is a true blessing. Whenever I see that sparkle in someone’s eyes, or that smile rising on their face because they are connected to the music they are playing and feel that joy in their heart, it makes my soul feel good too.

Traveling to me is not anymore solely for relaxation or getting away from stress. To me, it’s always an eye-opening opportunity to see a different part of the world, and experience a different kind of culture. But the more I travel, the more I feel we are all the same inside. We are human beings and we all need connection.

Music simply does that and more. And I love every minute of it.
