We can do hard things.Sometimes I hear my students say “I can’t” – or various variations of it, like “I’m confused”, “I don’t wanna”, or simply “no!”. I ask myself, why?
They’re afraid to try and, fail.
Often we all are worried of making mistakes, because we focus too much on the immediate outcomes, or rather how that “failure” or mistake reflects us.
When you’re playing, it’s about the music.
The less “you”, the better the music will be.
So, instead of worrying about how you look or sound like when you make mistakes, think about the music. Also, you need failures to succeed.
Keep trying, keep failing, try harder, try smarter. Try different strategies, keep a growth mindset. And you’ll succeed in a way you’d never imagine. We can do hard things!
