I had the pleasure to record one of my piano compositions “Running Away” (complete) here in Colorado back in 2016. That was the first time I came to visit Colorado, little did I know that I was going to come back here and stay! Enjoy my piece!
I love learning, and I love teaching piano.
I however, did not enjoy learning that much, with my own experience earlier on.
I had way too much guidance and too many teachers trying to be tough on me, telling me that my work, or I, wasn’t good enough.
This is one of my favorite to sing and play at the piano – This song is called “Somewhere” from Bernstein’s musical “West Side Story”. Enjoy!
Thank you for all your support and appreciation in my piano lessons, piano teaching and piano performance. Interested in my piano lesson? Contact me here.
We play piano duets from time to time- there are usually a couple duet pieces at the end of each piano beginner coursebook that I wrote. This is “When the Saints Go Marching on”. I love playing with my piano students!
Sometimes I help student make up their own version of popular songs, especially with those who like to be more creative. Here Emily plays her own version of the ever popular “Imagine” by John Lennon.
In my piano lessons, I teach students how to play chords and make up their own music. It’s a lot of fun, something different from playing from the music score, which is of course equally great!
My student plays Elgar’s Salut d’Amour, Op.12 at the piano in a recording session. (There are many instrumental versions of this piece!)
I taught this student from absolute piano beginner to piano diploma holder. That’s over 10 years of piano teaching and mentoring. Like I always say, it’s about the relationship through piano. I still have contact with her and other students overseas. We remain good friends throughout the years. Enjoy this performance by Yan.
